Most dogs require zero motivation to tear into their dinner. Some dogs even gobble up their dinner a little too fast. But a chocolate Lab named Bo requests a little favor before he chows down: a kiss on the nose.

All About Bo’s Pre-Dinner Kisses
While petsitting her neighbor’s dog, TikTok user Cassidy Barnard stumbled upon an unusual request from her canine client. Bo, her neighbor’s Labrador retriever, waits patiently for a kiss on the nose before he starts eating every meal.
Understandably, the internet has gone wild over Bo’s pre-dinner routine. Since being posted three days ago, Barnard’s TikTok has racked up over 10 million views, 2 million likes and 11.6k comments, with one user commenting what we’re all feeling: “Not to be dramatic, but I would die for this dog.”
How to Show Your Dog Affection
Bo definitely welcomes kisses on the nose, but not all dogs are fans of human kisses. And since they can’t tell us to “Stop” with words, be sure to monitor their initial reaction before making it a habit.
There are plenty of other ways to show affection that are more universally accepted by doggos.
Instead of kisses or hugs, try:
- Petting your dog
- Cuddling your dog
- Speaking to them in a loving voice
- Playing with your dog
- Positive reinforcement training (with treats!)
