JW Marriott will make its Greece debut with this summer’s opening of the JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa.
Located near the city of Chania, the resort will be situated along Marathi Beach, offering a mix of 160 rooms, suites and villas.
The resort said its wellness facilities will be anchored by a full-service spa as well as a cave with “medicinal waters” that can enhance relaxation and meditation.
On the culinary front, the JW Marriott will be home to six food-and-beverage venues, including Anoee, a restaurant focusing on Cretan cuisine, and Fayi, an open-fire seaside concept. The resort’s main restaurant will offer both buffet and a la carte Mediterranean options. The Suncti pool bar will serve cocktails and light fare.
The JW Marriott Crete Resort will also offer guests access to on-property and local activities via its Unique Experiences program. These will include agricultural experiences in the resort’s garden, traditional cooking and cheesemaking classes, water sports, fishing excursions, wine tastings and wellness activities like sunrise yoga.
The luxury JW Marriott flag has more than 125 properties, with two additions — the JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort in the Maldives and the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo — expected to open next year.
