He eventually took matters into his own paws š
Arnold was found wandering the streets as a stray and brought toĀ Michigan Animal Rescue League. When he first arrived at the shelter, everyone was immediately enamored by this silly little guy.
āHeās goofy, affectionate, curious and bold,ā Tommy Sanfilippo, content coordinator at Michigan Animal Rescue League, told The Dodo.
Unfortunately, Arnold does have some issues due to irresponsible breeding, but they donāt stop him from living his life. Heās been inquisitive and opinionated since the day he arrived ā especially about his doggy door.
When Arnold was moved to a new kennel, it had a clear plastic doggy door that allowed him to move from inside to outside with ease. For Arnold, however, there was no ease in sight.
āArnold was pretty stumped by his doggy door,ā Sanfilippo said. āWe tried putting treats on the other side to entice him through, and even had a staff member squeeze through to show him that itās okay, but he remained pretty wary of it.ā
Arnold didnāt understand how the doggy door was supposed to work and decided he didnāt like it one bit. The next day, his frustrations had grown ā and he decided the only course of action was to pick a fight with his new nemesis.
The shelter posted videos of Arnold and the doggy door saga, and the internet immediately fell in love with the sassy pup.
āOverall itās resulted in over 120 [adoption] applications so far; obviously he can only go to one home, but itās cool to see interest in our shelter that could lead to some of our other animals getting adopted as well,ā Sanfilippo said.
It wonāt be long before Arnold is thriving in his new forever home ā and developing new archnemesis, of course.
